Maldives participates in COVID-19 video session

A team of Maldivian doctors has participated in a video conference on Prevention and Control of COVID-19 organised by China.

Minister of State for Health Dr. Shah Abdulla Mahir led the Maldivian team of medical professionals in the discussions attended by doctors and health professionals from 18 Euro-Asia and South Asian countries. The discussions revolved around measures to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. The four-hour discussion session also included a question and answer session for participants.

The global COVID-19 pandemic was first reported in Wuhan City, China and the World Health Organisation (WHO) has applauded China's reaction and measures to contain the virus. China has begun assisting other nations after containing the virus its territories.

Ambassador of China to Maldives Zhang Lizhong has previously applauded the impressive efforts of Maldives to contain COVID-19 in the country.
