Ministry of Economic Development has stated expatriates returning to Maldives after vacation must seek a permit before re-entering the country.
The economic ministry stated all expatriates returning from vacation, as well as new expatriates who have been approved for employment, must seek a special permit before entering Maldives. The ministry said the application for the permit must be submitted to the ministry 48 hours before arrival in Maldives.
The ministry said the measure is taken in order to facilitate the return of essential workers during the State of National Health Emergency. The ministry added the permit will be arranged within 48 hours after submitting the application.
The economic ministry further stated the application form for the permit can be downloaded from the ministry’s website.
