Kuramathi Resort to shut down operations until June 30

Kuramathi Island Resort Maldives has decided to shut down operations for the next three months.

Kuramathi announced operations will be suspended from April 1 to June 30, as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19. The resort said all bookings made for this period will be cancelled, adding it is currently in the process of contacting guests and business partners. The resort further stated operations are expected to resume on July 1.

Two positive COVID-19 cases were found in Kuramathi Resort earlier this month, leading to a lockdown on the resort. The resort was released from quarantine status on March 12.

In addition to Kuramathi, more than 20 resorts have temporarily suspended operations following the spread of COVID-19.
