Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has eased its tax policies to accommodate installment payments when settling off tax.
An announcement from the tax authority stated it has further delayed payments for existing customers with tax installment policies approved. The authority has taken the measure to relieve the public of the impact caused by the global pandemic of COVID-19.
MIRA announced tax payments will be accepted on installments until the end of June this year. The announcement further stated upon request of customer, the authority will also allow customers to commit to a smaller tax payment, and extend the installment duration of tax payments. All these leniencies have been offered until the end of June this year.
