Manta Air to commence seaplane operations to two atolls

Manta Air has decided to commence seaplane operations to Baa Atoll and Dhaalu Atoll.

Manta Air stated the airline decided to commence seaplane operations to the two atolls as the scheduled flights to the two destinations have been suspended amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline stated seaplane operations were commenced in order to allow travel to the two atolls instead of suspending operations altogether.

In addition to Baa Atoll and Dhaalu Atoll, Manta Air’s scheduled flights to Kooddoo, Gaafu Alifu Atoll have also been suspended. The airline stated the demand for air travel has drastically reduced due to COVID-19, resulting in significant losses to the airline.
