Two Maldivians fully recover from COVID-19

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed two Maldivians in Velidhoo Isolation Facility have fully recovered from COVID-19. HPA revealed the two Maldivians were tested for COVID-19 and tests showed a double negative result.

The total number of COVID-19 cases rose to 22, after a Maldivian and her child tested positive, which are the first COVID-19 cases in Male' City. In total, 16 individuals including 13 foreigners and 3 locals have made full recoveries in the Maldives. However, 4 locals are undergoing treatment in the country, while 2 foreigners who got infected in the Maldives are undergoing treatment abroad.

The first 20 COVID-19 cases in the Maldives were identified from resorts, safaris and individuals who were undergoing the mandatory 14-day quarantine period following their arrival from abroad.
