India government gifts Hydroxychloroquine to the Maldives

The government of India has provided 50,000 units of Hydroxychloroquine to the Maldives.

The medicine that is being used against a variety of ailments, including for COVID-19, arrived in the Maldives via a cargo flight operated by the national carrier, Maldivian, from Chennai. The medicine was donated to the people of Maldives, as a goodwill gesture, under a special exemption.

The government of Maldives has extended its deep appreciation to Prime Minister Modi and his government for the timely assistance towards the Maldivian people.
