The national flag carrier, Maldivian, has brought in over 8 tonnes of cargo from Bangkok, Thailand. The flight carried 8.28 tonnes of cargo which includes food, medicine, and other essential items.
The airline began cargo flight operations to 5 different destinations on March 29. The destinations include Trivandrum, Chennai, Colombo, Dubai, and Bangkok. So far, 18 flights have been operated by Maldivian to the five destinations.
Furthermore, Maldivian has also been transporting care packages to locals living abroad. However, the service has been suspended since the lockdown was imposed in the Maldives.
