National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has stated 6,860 samples have been collected and tested for COVID-19 in the Maldives, of which 6,091 have tested negative.
Speaking at the daily press conference, Spokesperson of NEOC Mohamed Mabrook Azeez revealed 245 samples tested positive for COVID-19 and 524 samples are pending results. Mabrook said currently a total of 294 apartments have been put under monitoring, adding 225 individuals are kept in isolation facilities and 1,201 individuals are kept in quarantine facilities. He further said contact tracing of positive cases has identified 3,044 individuals who have come into direct contact with COVID-19 patients.
NEOC has lifted the monitoring conditions put on two boats and an island. However, another 6 islands were placed under monitoring.
Revealing the statistics from the past 24 hours, the spokesperson said 185 individuals have visited flu clinics, while the administration has provided temporary shelters to 88 individuals stranded in Male' City. Additionally, 190 individuals have also been provided with food in the past 24 hours.
