Cabinet ministers placed in self-isolation

National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) reveals cabinet members are in self-isolation after contacting COVID-19 cases.

Speaking at the daily press conference, Spokesperson of NEOC Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said the cabinet member was put in isolation after receiving information the minister had been to a shop which is considered to be a high-risk location as some people living at the accommodation quarters tested positive for COVID-19. Mabrook stated the minister will be moved to an isolation facility if COVID-19 symptoms are identified.

The spokesperson revealed another two ministers have also taken precautionary measures. Mabrook said one minister has self-isolated at home after being a secondary contact of an individual who tested positive for COVID-19. He said although the direct contact had tested negative for COVID-19, the measure was taken as a precaution.

Mabrook said another cabinet member has self-isolated at home after an apartment in the building the minister is living was put under monitoring.
