35 children below 12 among confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives

National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has stated 35 of the confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives are children under the age of 12.

Speaking at the daily press briefing, Dr. Ibrahim Afzal from the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) said most people who tested positive are between ages 12 and 50, with 144 cases reported positive in the age group. Dr. Afzal said 2 who tested positive for COVID-19 are elderly citizens, which is considered the high-risk category. He said all patients who have tested for COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 3 three admitted in the hospital, are in stable condition.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives is at 269.
