Velaa Island Resort to donate medical equipment to the Maldives

Velaa Island Resort has decided to donate medical equipment to the Maldives.

The donations to be made by the Czech Republic owners of the luxury private island resort, Jiri Smejc and Daniel Kretinsky, include 10,000 test kits, 10,000 face masks, 500 personal protective equipment (PPE), 200 respirators and 5 ventilators. Velaa Island Resort said the items will arrive in the Maldives on a private jet, adding the permissions required have been arranged with the government.

Several businesses are providing the Maldives with medical equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
