National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has revealed an elderly patient has been put on a ventilator after his conditions worsened.
Speaking at the daily press briefing held at the NEOC, Dr. Mohamed Ali said the patient is an 88-year-old male who has been put a ventilator after his blood pressure and oxygen levels dropped. The doctor said his condition has not worsened any further after he was put on the ventilator.
Currently, four Maldivians and a Pakistani national are being treated in the DH11 facility at Dharumavantha Hospital, which is allocated for the most critical COVID-19 patients in the country. All individuals in the facility are in stable conditions, although the 80-year-old is being given oxygen after his conditions deteriorated.
So far, Maldives has reported just one COVID-19 death, which was of an 83-year-old local woman.
