National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has disclosed it has transferred 42 individuals stranded in Male' City to quarantine facilities located in their islands.
Speaking at the daily press briefing at NEOC, Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said the people will be permitted to leave the facilities to go back home once their tests come back negative after the 14-day quarantine period.
The government has been providing assistance for stranded locals in Male' City following the lockdown imposed in the Greater Male' Region. To ease the challenges faced by the people stranded in Male', the administration has also formulated a policy under clause 33 of the Public Health Act to allow them to leave the capital city to their islands.
The administration has been assisting 187 people who are stranded in Male', of which 95 individuals currently reside in a temporary shelter.
