Third COVID-19 patient passes away in the Maldives

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed a third COVID-19 patient has passed away in the Maldives.

HPA said the patient was the first Maldivian COVID-19 patient to be treated in the DH11 facility at Dharumavantha Hospital. HPA said the patient who passed away was an 80-year-old Maldivian man. He tested positive for COVID-19 on April 21 and was taken to the hospital on April 30.

Previously, an 83-year-old Maldivian woman and a 33-year-old Bangladeshi man had passed away due to COVID-19. A total of 20 individuals have made a full recovery from COVID-19 in the Maldives.

So far, 648 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives.
