National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has revealed World Health Organisation (WHO) provided another 5,000 COVID-19 test kits to the Maldives.
Speaking at the daily press briefing, Spokesperson of NEOC Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said WHO is providing Maldives with an additional 5,000 PCR test kits. PCR tests are used to directly detect the presence of COVID-19 in a person and is one of the two types of tests conducted to detect coronavirus.
The first test kits for COVID-19 were also donated by WHO. In addition to WHO, neighbouring countries and bilateral partners and well-known foreign businesses have donated test kits and medical equipment to the Maldives.
