National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has stated it has begun collecting samples from people living in 5 additional overcrowded expatriate accommodation facilities after placing them under monitoring condition.
Speaking at the daily press briefing, Spokesperson of NEOC Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said samples have been collected from 30 of the 33 expatriate accommodation facilities. He said samples will soon be collected from the remaining facilities as well.
Mabrook said 612 expatriate workers have been transferred to quarantine facilities from the places under monitoring. An additional 475 expatriates have been placed in isolation facilities.
Under plans to transfer expatriates from overcrowded accommodation facilities to other islands, many have been moved to quarantine facilities established outside Male'.
