Two-year-old recovers from COVID-19 in the Maldives

National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has revealed a two-year-old has recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives.

Speaking at the daily press briefing, Spokesperson of NEOC Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said an additional 8 patients have recovered from COVID-19, including a two-year-old. The toddler was among the first cases identified in Male' City in mid-April.

A total of 40 individuals, including 26 Maldivians and 14 foreigners, have made full recoveries from COVID-19 in the Maldives. In addition, 909 individuals are undergoing treatment, including 12 patients who are undergoing treatment at Tree Top Hospital and the DH11 facility at Dharumavantha Hospital.

Maldives has recorded 4 deaths from COVID-19 so far, including an 83-year-old Maldivian woman, an 88-year-old Maldivian man, an 80-year-old Maldivian man, and a 33-year-old Bangladeshi man.
