National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has said it has found one of the 3 expatriates who have tested positive for COVID-19 but had gone missing.
Speaking at the daily press briefing, Spokesperson of NEOC Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said the authorities are looking for 2 other expatriates who have tested positive for COVID-19. Mabrook said the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has information on the individuals, adding they were not found in the addresses given when the medical teams went to move them to an isolation facility. He did not disclose the nationalities of the individuals. NEOC found the individuals missing on May 6 or 7.
Furthermore, the spokesperson said medical teams will be visiting different sites to take random samples and would be asking for personal details including contact numbers and addresses. Mabrook said Maldives Police Service (MPS) has helped HPA in finding 5 individuals who could not be found in the given addresses, with authorities now looking for the remaining 2 individuals. He added the personal details of the missing expatriates would be made public, under the authority given to the director-general of public health, if they are not found.
