Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed an additional 9 cases of COVID-19 have been detected from Manadhoo, Noonu Atoll.
The 9 new cases reported from Manadhoo were direct contacts of the first case identified from the island. The first case was a female patient at Noonu Atoll Hospital who was transferred to Male’ City for further treatment, and had subsequently tested positive for COVID-19.
HPA said the individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 from Manadhoo are currently being transferred to Irufushi Quarantine Facility. The agency said all of them had been under home isolation when they were tested positive for the disease.
Manadhoo has been under monitoring since the first case was reported from the island. HPA is currently tracing contacts of the individuals who tested positive from the island, and obtaining their samples for testing.
