Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen has stated the country is seeing positive developments in is efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Speaking to PSM News, Health Minister Ameen said the focus now is on treating the people who have tested positive for COVID-19. Stating an 80-year-old woman who tested positive for COVID-19 from Manadhoo, Noonu Atoll, has successfully recovered, Minister Ameen said the successful recoveries of the elderly is a huge success in the fight against COVID-19 in the Maldives.
The health minister said the administration is working to set up testing facilities in the atolls by the end of the month. He also called on the public not be complacent in following instructions from the authorities despite the number of cases reported in the country has decreased over the past week.
