STELCO spends over USD 323,000 on COVID-19 facilities

State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has revealed the company has spent over USD 323,000 on COVID-19 facilities established by the government.

Speaking at a press conference, Managing Director of STELCO Hassan Mughnee said the company has spent an amount between USD 323,000 and USD 388,000 on facilities established by the government amid the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he did not share details of how the funds were spent.

In addition to STELCO, several other state-owned enterprises have been assisting the efforts of the government to fight COVID-19. The latest statistics published by the government revealed a total of USD 56.1 million has been spent by the state to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.

The government has assured it will not hesitate in undertaking any expenses required to overcome the COVID-19 crisis. The government is also working on acquiring foreign grants and loans as economic relief.
