Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed a 38-year old Bangladeshi man has passed away while undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), bringing the COVID-19 death toll in the Maldives to 8.
HPA stated the man was brought to IGMH in critical condition, before passing away at 0925hrs on June 6. He becomes the 8th individual and the 4th Bangladeshi national to succumb to COVID-19 in the Maldives.
The latest statistics from HPA revealed the number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has risen to 1,884, including 1,159 active cases, 717 recoveries and 8 deaths. There are 1,478 individuals in quarantine facilities and 1,212 in isolation facilities.
