Health Protection Agency (HPA) has published the regulation for individuals undergoing home quarantine after returning to their islands from Male' City.
The home quarantine regulation published by HPA states the local councils must confirm whether the homes of individuals undergoing home quarantine fit the criteria set by HPA. As such, the regulation states there must be no pregnant women or elderly people above the age of 60 living in the house. The agency also stated the home must not have any immunocompromised individuals who have asthma, kidney diseases, diabetes, haemoglobin disorder, liver diseases or heart diseases.
Furthermore, HPA stated any individual undergoing home quarantine must have a separate room. Any rooms in the house accommodating more than one person must have measures in place to ensure a distance of at least 3 feet between the beds. Windows of the rooms are required to be opened regularly to ensure air circulation.
HPA stated the period for home quarantine is 24 days. The agency said individuals will be released from home quarantine after they test negative for COVID-19, at the end of the 24-day period.
