Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced the harbour development project in Dharanboodhoo, Faafu Atoll.
The project was awarded to MTCC in December 2019. The project worth over USD 2.4 million is expected to be completed within 397 days. MTCC said the project includes detail surveys including bathymetry of basin and channel and bathymetry of the potential harbour expansion area.
Furthermore, the state-owned enterprise said the aim of the project is to upgrade the existing harbour at Dharaboodhoo for easy and safe access to the island and for additional berthing space for a large number of vessels.
