World Health Organisation (WHO) has donated an additional 10,000 COVID-19 test kits to the Maldives.
The donation was handed over to Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen by the WHO Representative in the Maldives Dr. Arvind Mathur in a special function held at National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC). With the latest donation, the number of test kits donated by WHO to the Maldives has now passed 40,000.
During the handover function, Health Minister Ameen expressed his gratitude towards WHO for the continuous donations of COVID-19 test kits to the Maldives. He said the donations have been immensely helpful in increasing the COVID-19 testing capacity of the Maldives.
In addition to providing test kits, WHO has been providing technical assistance and training to the Maldives in the efforts against COVID-19. WHO has pledged to continue assisting the Maldives in the fight against COVID-19.
