MTCC to launch 28 new projects when lockdown is lifted

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced plans to launch 28 new projects as soon as the lockdown is lifted.

Speaking to PSM News, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Adam Azim said MTCC continues working on the ongoing projects without interruptions despite the lockdown imposed in the Greater Male' region amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Azim added 42 projects in 35 islands are ongoing, noting the projects were already launched when the lockdown was imposed. He further clarified the projects were continued as importing equipment from abroad was not required.

In addition, Azim revealed 28 projects will be launched once the lockdown is fully lifted as it requires travelling and transporting equipment to islands. He added MTCC faced some interruptions to continue the ongoing projects due to travelling restrictions imposed across the country.
