Over half of COVID-19 cases fully recover in the Maldives

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed over half of the COVID-19 cases reported in the Maldives have fully recovered.

As of June 9, the total number of COVID-19 recoveries in the Maldives has risen to 1,010. The percentage of COVID-19 recoveries in the Maldives now stands at 52%.

Meanwhile, an additional 26 cases were reported on June 9, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 1,942. There are currently 922 active cases, including 10 patients who are undergoing treatment at Tree Top Hospital and in the DH11 facility at Dharumavantha Hospital. Maldives has recorded 8 deaths from COVID-19, including four Maldivians aged 80, 83, 88 and 89, and four Bangladeshis aged 33, 38, 45 and 54.

Currently, there are 1,443 individuals in quarantine facilities and 1,185 individuals in isolation facilities across the Maldives.
