The national airline, Maldivian, has decided to resume scheduled domestic flights on July 1.
Announcing the decision to resume scheduled domestic flights, Maldivian requested passengers to seek the required permits and documents from Health Protection Agency (HPA) and island councils before beginning the journey. The airline also noted passengers travelling from Male’ City to islands are required undergo home quarantine for 14 days. Individuals are required to register at the designated portal of HPA to seek the permit for travelling and to provide daily updates of their health conditions to HPA during the home quarantine period.
Maldivian stated passengers travelling to islands from Male’ must ensure they have received the travel permit through the HPA portal before the journey. Meanwhile, passengers travelling to Male’ from islands are required to seek their travel permit from the portal of Maldives Police Service (MPS).
Maldivian suspended domestic flight operations in April following the lockdown imposed in the Greater Male’ Region due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
