Health Protection Agency (HPA) has allowed traveling to islands for a period of less than 5 days to provide essential services without having to quarantine.
HPA has published a guideline to follow when traveling for a period of not more than 5 days to provide necessary services to an island. As per the guideline, service providers can stay in an island for a period of less than 5 days without having to complete a 14-day quarantine.
HPA said the guideline excludes travels to resorts. Instead, resorts should follow the guideline on public health interventions to prevent COVID-19 transmission in the tourism sector for the essential services.
HPA revealed travellers wishing to visit an island to provide essential services should obtain a special permission and the request for permission must be shared with the agency. HPA has advised all individuals travelling to follow the guidelines and instructions from the authorities at all times.
