Universal Enterprises donates PCR machines to the Maldives

Universal Enterprises Private Limited has donated two PCR machines to the government of the Maldives in efforts to strengthen the testing capacity for COVID-19.

The PCR machines were handed over at a ceremony held at the Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) which was attended by Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen. Universal Enterprises, which is one of the largest travel companies operating in the Maldives, had also previously donated 20,000 test kits to the government.

State-owned companies, private companies, non-governmental organisation and international organisations have provided assistance in different capacities for the fight to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the Maldives. In this regard, some companies and organisations have donated medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) to support the efforts of the government.
