Vice President inquires on health of Maldivian patients at Amrita Hospital

Vice President Faisal Naseem has inquired on the condition and status of Maldivian patients seeking treatment at the Amrita Hospital, India.

In a telephone conversation with the Director of International Patient Relations at Amrita Hospital, Babu Menon, Vice President Naseem highlighted the role of the Indian government in facilitating medical assistance to the Maldives during the COVID-19 pandemic and discussed the difficulties faced by the hospital in providing services during the pandemic. He further inquired on the plans and strategies currently being applied by the hospital to overcome those challenges while maintaining a high quality of service.

The vice president also individually discussed the health of each Maldivian patient seeking treatment at the hospital. He made a special request to the hospital to look after the Maldivian patients who had sought treatment during COVID-19 lockdown period and stated he would continue to closely monitor the condition of the patients.

The vice president further requested the hospital to continue providing their best services to all patients travelling from the Maldives, as Amrita Hospital is a medical institution that is a familiar and well-trusted choice for Maldivians seeking medical treatment in India.
