Turkish Airlines has resumed scheduled flights to the Maldives after suspending passenger operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
General Sales Agent of Turkish Airlines, Expedite Maldives, revealed Turkish Airlines will operate a weekly-flight to the Velana International Airport (VIA) every Friday. The first flight since resuming operations to the Maldives arrived from Istanbul, Turkey in the morning of August 7. Turkish Airlines is utilising a 349-seater flight to the Maldives comprising of 49 business class seats and 300 economy class seats.
Turkish Airlines operated its first flight to the Maldives in 2012.
