Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed the COVID-19 death toll in the Maldives has risen to 20.
HPA said the last death was that of a 67-year-old Maldivian male, who passed away on August 11, while undergoing treatment in the emergency room of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). This is the 20th COVID-19 death recorded in the Maldives.
The first COVID-19 death was recorded in the Maldives on April 29. So far, 14 Maldivians and 6 expatriates have passed away from COVID-19 in Maldives.
The Maldives has detected 5,157 COVID-19 cases since March 7.
