Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed the COVID-19 death toll in the Maldives has risen to 21.
HPA said the last death was that of a 77-year-old Maldivian female, who passed away on August 12, while undergoing treatment at the Hulhumale' Medical Facility. She is the second COVID-19 death to be recorded in the Maldives in the past 24 hours.
The first COVID-19 death was recorded in the Maldives on April 29. So far, 15 Maldivians and 6 expatriates have passed away from COVID-19 in Maldives.
The Maldives has detected 5,223 COVID-19 cases since March 7.
