Maldives records 22nd COVID-19 death

Health protection Agency (HPA) has revealed a Maldivian female has passed away from COVID-19.

HPA said the last death recorded was that of a 61-year-old Maldivian female, who passed away on August 14, while undergoing treatment in the ICU of Hulhumale’ Medical Facility. This is the 22nd COVID-19 death recorded in the Maldives.

The first COVID-19 death was recorded in the Maldives on April 29. So far, 16 Maldivians and 6 expatriates have passed away from COVID-19 in Maldives.

The Maldives has detected 5,494 COVID-19 cases since March 7. Currently, there are 2,553 active cases in the country.
