Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has stated the outcome of the preventive measures levied now to control the spread of COVID-19 will be positive if maintained.
Speaking at a press conference held, Spokesperson of HEOC Dr. Nazla Rafeeq said the centre is closely monitoring the situation of COVID-19 and the changes to the trends of community spread. Noting it normally takes about two or three weeks to see the results of the preventive measures, Dr. Nazla said it is best to maintain the current preventive measures rather than imposing stricter measures.
The doctor added the Technical Advisory Group is hopeful the outcome of the current preventive measures will be positive if practiced well. Noting active cases found in islands are increasing, Dr. Nazla said most such COVID-19 cases are detected from individuals in home quarantine after returning from Male'.
