Ministry of Health has stated the Dubai-based Executors General Trading has supplied 10 of the total 75 ventilators contracted to the company.
Speaking to PSM News, Deputy Director General of the health ministry Thasleema Usman said the 10 that arrived are replacements for the 10 ventilators rejected by the ministry over failure to meet requirements. She added the ventilators supplied by the company are portable ones and are currently in the process of Customs clearance.
Dubai’s Executor General Trading was contracted to procure 75 ventilators in March, with 90% of the quoted price paid up front. The COVID-19 compliance audit conducted on the health ministry revealed the company was selected without assessing its financial and technical capabilities, in addition to not obtaining advance payment and performance guarantees.
The case is under investigation by the relevant authorities.
