Maldives records 34th COVID-19 death

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed a 90-year-old Maldivian male has passed away from COVID-19.

HPA said the male passed away at 0125 hours while undergoing treatment at Hulhumale’ Medical Facility on September 21. This is the 34th COVID-19 death recorded in the Maldives.

So far, 27 Maldivians and 7 expatriates have passed away from COVID-19 in Maldives. Three deaths have been recorded so far in September.

As per the statistics of HPA, there are currently 1,424 active cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 107 patients admitted in medical facilities for treatment.
