Asphalt paving in Fonadhoo to commence this month

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed asphalt works on the roads of Fonadhoo, Laamu Atoll will commence within this month.

MTCC began works of the redevelopment of major roads of Fonadhoo on June 26, 2019. MTCC said over half of the project has been completed, with asphalt paving scheduled to commence this month.

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the road development project of Fonadhoo to MTCC at a price of USD 1.6 million. Under the agreement, MTCC will construct and develop 12 major roads with road signs and speed breakers, along with a stormwater management system to mitigate flooding.
