Maldives records 35th COVID-19 death

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed a 56-year-old Maldivian woman has passed away from COVID-19.

HPA said the woman passed away at 1420hrs on October 11, while undergoing treatment at the DH11 facility in Dharumavantha Hospital. This is the 35th COVID-19 death recorded in the Maldives, and the first since September 21. So far, 28 Maldivians and 7 expatriates have passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives.

As per the statistics of HPA, there are currently 1,118 active cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 72 patients admitted in medical facilities for treatment. A total of 10,894 cases have been reported in the Maldives since COVID-19 was first detected in the country on March 7.
