Emirates and Aeroflot has decided to increase flight frequency to the Maldives within this month.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) said Aeroflot will increase its flight frequency to 4 flights per week from October 26 onwards. The airline currently operates 2 weekly flights on Friday and Sunday to Velana International Airport (VIA). The additional two flights will be operated on Monday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, MACL revealed Emirates will add 3 more flights from October 25 onwards. Currently, Emirates operates 7 weekly flights to Maldives.
The leading Russian airline, Aeroflot resumed its operations to the Maldives on September 11, after a suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, the UAE state-owned flag carrier airline, Emirates resumed its operations to VIA on July 16.
MACL noted 12 international airlines are currently operating to Maldives.
