Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed an 43-year-old Bangladeshi male has passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives.
HPA said the man was brought in unresponsive state to Hulhumale’ Hospital and was declared dead on arrival; at 7:25am on November 8. HPA said the man had subsequently tested positive for COVID-19.
This is the 40th COVID-19 death recorded in the Maldives. So far, 32 Maldivians and 8 expatriates have passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives.
As per the statistics of HPA, there are currently 854 active cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 60 patients admitted in medical facilities for treatment. A total of 11,986 cases have been reported in the Maldives since COVID-19 was first detected in the country on March 7.
