Support from private sector needed to further develop healthcare services: Health Minister

Minister of Health Ahmed Naseem has stated the health sector of the Maldives can only be further developed with the cooperation of private sector. The minister made the remarks at the ceremony held to inaugurate the laboratory developed to conduct PCR tests in Dharavandhoo in Baa Atoll.

Speaking at the ceremony, the health minister assured the health services provided across the Maldives will be developed to ensure the services are accepted by the citizens. He said in order to achieve the target, the support and cooperation of councils and public is required. Noting the tremendous efforts of health professionals in trying times such as the current pandemic, the health minister applauded the responsible work done by the health sector.

Since assuming office, the current administration has launched projects to ensure adequate health service in all regions, strengthening the services provided in in the northern and southern atolls.
