Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed a 69-year-old Maldivian male has passed away from COVID-19.
HPA said the male passed away at 09:34 a.m. on December 11, while undergoing treatment at DH11 Facility of Dharumavantha Hospital. This is the 48th COVID-19 death recorded in the Maldives. So far, 40 Maldivians and 8 expatriates have passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives.
As per the statistics of HPA, there are currently 639 active cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 66 patients admitted in medical facilities for treatment. A total of 13,308 cases have been reported in the Maldives since COVID-19 was first detected in the country on March 7.
