Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed the detection of 121 new cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives on February 3.
As per the latest statistics of HPA, 121 new cases were detected in the Maldives between 1800hrs on February 2 and 1800hrs on February 3. This includes 102 cases from the Greater Male’ Region, 4 cases from inhabited islands in atolls and 15 cases from operational resorts.
With the latest update, the total number of cases reported in the Maldives has risen to 16,276, including 1,879 active cases. There are currently 178 COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment in hospitals or medical facilities. A total of 53 people have passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 45 locals and 8 expatriates.
HPA has urged individuals with flu like symptoms to immediately test for COVID-19.
