Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed over 20,000 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Maldives.
As per the latest statistics of HPA, 3,910 people were vaccinated in the Maldives on February 10, which is the highest single-day figure so far. This includes 3,285 people in the Male’ area and 625 people in the atolls.
Since the beginning of the vaccination programme on February 1, a total of 20,161 people have been vaccinated including 16,703 people in the Male’ area and 3,458 people in the atolls.
The first round of the vaccination in the Maldives will see the rollout of 100,000 doses of Covishield vaccine, granted to the Maldives by India. Two shots of the vaccine are required to complete the dosage, with 4 weeks required between the two shots. Vaccination is currently carried out in 6 centres in the Male’ area and 14 centres in the atolls.
