Maldives Red Crescent (MRC) has commenced COVID-19 vaccination of undocumented expatriate workers residing in the Maldives.
MRC is conducting vaccination of undocumented workers by registering them under the MRC beneficiary system. MRC opened registration for vaccination of undocumented workers on February 20. Vaccination is carried out at the Islamic Centre in Male’.
MRC said vaccination of undocumented expatriates began as part of efforts to ensure everybody is vaccinated, considering the large number of undocumented workers residing in the Maldives. MRC said the target is to register 250 workers per day for vaccination.
COVID-19 vaccination began in the Maldives on February 1. So far, over 90,000 people have received their first dose of the vaccine in the Maldives. The government aims to vaccinate the entire population within 6-7 months.
