Ministry of Tourism has revealed 30 airlines are currently operating international flights to the Maldives.
According to the Maldives Tourism Updates report published by the tourism ministry, 23 airlines are operating scheduled international flights to the Maldives while another 7 airlines are operating chartered international flights to the Maldives. Airlines operating scheduled flights to the Maldives include Emirates, Aeroflot, Air India, Edelweiss, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, SpiceJet, Sri Lankan Airlines and Turkish Airlines. Airlines operating chartered flights to the Maldives include Air Astana, Azur Air, Ukraine International Airlines and Uzbekistan Airways.
As per the statistics, Emirates has brought the largest number of tourists to the Maldives this year, with 35,228 tourists arriving on 396 flights between January 1 and February 24. Meanwhile, Qatar Airways has carried 24,405 tourists to the Maldives during this period.
Among airlines operating chartered flights, Air Astana has brought in the largest number of tourists with 5,129 tourists carried across 48 flights. Meanwhile, Azur Air has carried 3,874 tourists to the Maldives this year.
