Café, restaurants allowed to operate until 2230hrs

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has permitted cafés and restaurants in the Greater Male’ Region to operate until 2230hrs every day.

As part of the new measures introduced earlier this year to curb the spread of COVID-19, HPA had banned cafes and restaurants in the Male’ Region from providing dine-in services after 2000hrs, although take-away and delivery services were allowed until 2230hrs. HPA has eased this restriction starting from March 21, allowing cafes and restaurants to provide all their services until 2230hrs.

Despite allowing cafes and restaurants to operate until 2230hrs, HPA has not lifted any other restrictions imposed in the Male’ Region. As such, a vehicle curfew is still in place from 1800hrs until 0600hrs every day, and a total curfew is in place from 2300hrs until 0430hrs. Meanwhile, gatherings of more than 5 people are still prohibited.
